Open Positions

Rotation and Master Students

We are always interested to hear from highly motivated candidates with good communication and lab skills as well as enthusiasm for research in microbiology, infection biology and molecular biology.

Students participate in current topics of the lab. In general, they can choose from several open projects. Since our unit works with biological safety level 2 microorganisms, the students can aquire an additional qualification within their practical work in our labs. However, the students must work according to the BSL-2 safety regulations.

We ensure that within the practical work, that the students get the possibility to learn several techniques and work independently on their projects.

Frequently, the results contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals. Thus, students have a shot on co-authorship. Students can also participate on international or national meetings to present their data.

Unfortunately, we have not the financial support to pay master students directly. However, each student gets the chance for employment as tutors in lab courses of the Institute.
