Lipid mass spectrometry

The focus of our research is on the analysis of lipids and metabolites using state-of-the-art chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques.

We use established methods to address specific questions in our research projects.

  • Explorative or high-throughput lipidomics using ion mobility and high-resolution mass spectrometry.
  • Precise detection of selected lipids in low concentrations using triple quadrupole measurements.

Service

The application of established and development of new mass spectrometric analysis methods is carried out in close cooperation and tailored to the needs of the respective research groups. The range of analytical methods is constantly being expanded, with a significant proportion of this work being carried out as part of Master's and PhD theses.

For all planned experiments involving mass spectroscopic analyses of any kind, you are requested to contact us in advance to discuss the planned project.

  • Targeted Analysis of lipids and metabolites of lipid metabolism
  • Fatty acid analysis

 

For scientific collaborations we have to charge an operating fee. The amount of the contribution depends on the actual expenditure.

  • Ion mobility QTOF mass spectrometer, equipped with ESI ion source; coupled to a UHPLC chromatography system
  • Triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, equipped with ESI ion source; coupled to a UHPLC chromatography system
  • Gas chromatography - single quadrupole mass spectrometer, equipped with EI ion source
  • Gas chromatography system with FID detector
  • UHPLC- Chromatography- System; equipped with UV- diode array-Ri and fluorescence detector
